Renowned politician and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has voiced his concerns over the detrimental effects of the sit-at-home orders in the South-East region on businesses. Obi attributes the insecurity in the area to criminal activities rather than the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), a proscribed group that has distanced itself from the crimes.
In a series of tweets, Obi expressed his views on the situation, stating, “What is going on in the South East, therefore, is essentially a criminal activity that must be nipped in the bud, with all hands on deck – security agencies and the people alike.”
