Microblogging social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has revealed that Premium users can now conceal their verification checkmarks.

The company updated the ‘About Twitter Blue’ support page for premium subscribers, stating that even if you conceal the checkmark it might still be visible in some areas.

Paid verification was launched by the Elon Musk-owned business last year with the Twitter Blue redesign. XBlue was given to the service as part of the continuing rebranding process.

“As a subscriber, you can choose to hide your checkmark on your account. The check mark will be hidden on your profile and posts.

“The checkmark may still appear in some places and some features could still reveal you have an active subscription.

“Some features may not be available while your checkmark is hidden. We will continue to evolve this feature to make it better for you,” the page reads.

The new update according to experts is set to help users benefit from subscription features without showing that they are a verified account.
