Abia State Governor’s Wife Assures Rehabilitation of Rescued Baby Factory Inmates

Governor’s wife takes action to rehabilitate rescued baby factory inmates: Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the wife of Abia State Governor, has reassured the public that appropriate measures are being taken to rehabilitate the inmates rescued from a baby factory in Umunkpeyi, Nvosi. The facility, located in the Isialangwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, was recently exposed, leading to the rescue of several young girls.

 

First Lady expresses sadness and disappointment: During an unscheduled visit to Madonna College of Health Technology in Olokoro, Umuahia, where the young girls are currently being cared for, Mrs. Otti expressed her deep sadness and disappointment over the incident. She described the situation as heartbreaking and emphasized that the government is providing temporary care for the victims of the baby factory.

 

Government pledges to assist vulnerable young girls: Mrs. Otti expressed her regret that such an unfortunate act was taking place in the state. She assured the public that the government would collaborate with charity homes, churches, and other stakeholders to provide the necessary assistance for the care and support of young girls and children in Abia State who are being exploited and taken advantage of. This partnership aims to protect and empower vulnerable individuals and ensure their well-being.

The Provost of Madonna College of Health Technology, Rev. Fr. Christian Anokwuru, disclosed that the rescued girls, approximately 20 in number, have been brought to the facility following their rescue by the state government. He further revealed that the girls are currently pregnant and have undergone essential medical tests to assess their health status. In connection with this distressing incident, two suspects have been apprehended by the authorities.
