Aliko Dangote Foundation Provides Relief for Nigerian Returnees from Sudan
The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has begun disbursing N100,000 and Dignity Packs to each of the Nigerian evacuees from Sudan who arrived in Abuja on Thursday. The cash and packs were distributed to all the evacuees, regardless of their number.
The ADF has committed to evacuating and resettling thousands of Nigerians stranded in Sudan. On the first day, 362 returnees, including children, were registered, and 350 people received the support. Maryam Buhari-Shehu, a representative of the foundation, said the intervention was in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Air Peace to provide relief to the returnees.
The ADF will continue to support the government in its humanitarian efforts, according to Buhari-Shehu, who was representing the Managing Director of the foundation, Zouera Youssoufou. This assistance will undoubtedly help the returnees in their journey towards reintegrating into their home country after their difficult experiences abroad.
