A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has declared that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, is the “light” that will bring positive change to Nigeria.
Babachir Lawal, who once supported the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), spoke out against the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket of Bola Tinubu and Kassim Shettima and stated that he has repented from his past ways after seeing the “light.”
In an interview on “The Verdict 2023” on Channels Television, Lawal also criticized both the APC and the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as representing “darkness” in Nigeria. He explained that he joined the Labour Party and supported Obi because he saw the “light” and repented from “the darkness of the old system.”
Babachir Lawal stated, “I’ve seen the light; you can repent when you see the light. I saw the light, and I repented; I’m sorry. The light is Peter Obi.
The darkness is the old system that used to govern us, represented by both the PDP and the APC. No change. Same people, same agbada, same red face cap. Same people. So Nigerians have seen the light, not only me.”
