Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Air Force, spoke candidly about the tragic crash, indicating that investigations were ongoing to determine the cause. Three officers, 22 soldiers, and two pilots and crew members tragically lost their lives. This heart-rending loss was compounded by the injury of seven others during the fierce engagement with insurgents in Niger State’s Shiroro region.
