Kano State Governor Affirms Commitment to Industrialization, Energy, Security, and Climate Change Initiatives

In an exclusive statement received by The PUNCHUNCH on Tuesday morning, the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the progress of industrialization, energy, security, and climate change initiatives. Governor Yusuf, represented by his Deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, made this assertion on Monday during a courtesy visit by the participants of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), who are currently in Kano as part of their study tour.

Congratulating the participants of the Senior Executive Course 45 for their involvement in the program, Governor Yusuf eagerly awaits their report and expressed his assurance that the state government would diligently implement their findings and recommendations. This implementation aims to bolster the state’s industrialization, energy, security, and climate change status.

Leading the delegation, the Director-General of NIPSS, Prof Ayo Omotayo, conveyed his gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the warm reception accorded to them. He stated that their primary objective in Kano is to engage with key stakeholders involved in industrialization. The group’s focus lies in analyzing and identifying challenges faced by industries in Kano State, particularly in areas such as power and climate change, with the goal of understanding their impact on the lives of ordinary citizens. Moreover, the delegation aims to develop effective intervention strategies.

Dr. Baffa Abdullahi Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government, expressed his appreciation to NIPSS for selecting Kano State as one of the seven states for their study tour. He assured the delegation that the state government would provide all necessary support and resources to facilitate their research, ensuring the generation of valuable findings for effective implementation within the state.

During the event, Comptroller of Immigration and SEC 45 participant, Franka Nwaneka, expressed her gratitude to the Kano state government and its people for the warm welcome. Nwaneka pledged to utilize their utmost abilities and capacities during the study tour to produce fruitful results.

The visit concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on behalf of the participants. The souvenirs were received by his Deputy, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, as a token of appreciation for the state government’s support and commitment to the success of their study tour.
