A harrowing and deeply troubling incident has unfolded in Miami-Dade County, as 16-year-old Jazmin Paez, a teenage mother, faces arrest and court charges for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill her 3-year-old son.

Appearing before Miami-Dade County Judge Mindy Glazer, Paez was charged with solicitation of murder and unlawful use of a communications device in connection to the disturbing case. The charges stem from a report filed by the Miami-Dade police, which detailed Paez’s alleged involvement with a parody hit-for-hire website to carry out the unthinkable act.

According to police reports, Paez reached out to the website, expressing her dark intentions to have her son “taken away, far, far, far away and possibly be killed but ASAP.” Shockingly, she was willing to pay a sum of $3,000 for this horrifying act.

Her reported statement of wanting “to get something done once and for all” sent shockwaves through the investigation, prompting immediate action by the authorities.

Thanks to the swift response of the website owner, who contacted the police upon receiving Paez’s disturbing request, detectives swung into action on Tuesday. Utilizing the IP address and phone number provided by Paez, they traced and apprehended her at her father’s residence, where she had been residing for several months.

Additional information provided by the police revealed that Paez had given the address where her son lived with his grandmother, along with a recent photo of the child. The severity of the situation was heightened by Paez’s demand for the sinister act to be carried out by Thursday.

During the court appearance, Paez maintained that she had never sought treatment for any mental health conditions, further deepening the perplexity surrounding the case.

The 3-year-old boy’s grandmother, who continues to provide care for him, cooperated with the police investigation, affirming that her daughter moved out in May. Despite the physical distance, the grandmother stated that the child still regularly communicates with his mother via FaceTime.

As the details of this horrifying incident emerge, questions arise about the circumstances that led to such a distressing plot and the potential underlying factors that may have contributed to it.

The gravity of the charges and the alarming nature of the crime have elicited shock and concern from the community. Paez’s bond was set at $15,000, and she was released from jail on Thursday, leaving many to contemplate the complexities of this deeply troubling case.
