The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has removed Ademola Adeleke as the governor of the state. The tribunal, which was sitting in Osogbo, ruled in a 2-1 decision that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke and give it to former governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The majority judgement, read by the Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume, stated that Oyetola received the most lawful votes with 314,931 compared to Adeleke’s 290,266. The minority judgement is still being read.
