How to Compress an Image to 100KB for an Online Upload
When a form says “maximum 100KB,” a normal image compressor is not quite enough. You need to control the output against a specific ceiling. The useful question is not simply how to make the image smaller, but how to get it below the limit while retaining enough detail to be accepted and understood.
Why the same photo behaves differently
Compression results depend on the image itself. A simple headshot against a plain background can behave very differently from a busy street photograph. Dimensions, textures, noise and the chosen format all influence the final file size.
