Acting Governor Dismisses Rumors of Division in Ondo State Cabinet Amid Governor’s Medical Leave

Acting Governor’s Assurance Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the acting Governor of Ondo State, addressed concerns regarding the state of governance in Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s absence due to ill health. He dismissed rumors of rancor or division within the cabinet and emphasized his commitment to building on the foundation laid by Governor Akeredolu.

 

Warning Against Political Tension Mr Aiyedatiwa cautioned politicians in the state against heating up the political atmosphere, especially with the upcoming governorship election next year. He urged them to refrain from spreading misinformation and engaging in activities that could disrupt government operations. The acting governor emphasized that governance in Ondo State is on track.

 

Continuity and Collaboration Mr Aiyedatiwa praised Governor Akeredolu as a respected democrat who adheres to the rule of law. He highlighted the governor’s consistent practice of transferring power to the deputy governor during annual vacations, reiterating that the same protocol was followed for the medical leave. The acting governor expressed his commitment to maintaining a good working relationship with the newly inaugurated State House of Assembly to propel the state forward.
