Afenifere’s criticism
Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, has expressed its disapproval of a recent statement made by the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The statement allegedly contained derogatory remarks towards former governor Gbenga Daniel, causing further division rather than promoting reconciliation.
Call for settlement
Afenifere, with Daniel as one of its chieftains, called upon both Gbenga Daniel and the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun, to resolve their differences for the betterment of Ogun State. The group emphasized the need for unity among elected officials and urged the Ogun APC to adopt peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms within the party.
Critique of party conduct
Afenifere expressed disappointment in the conduct of the Ogun APC, highlighting that the party leadership should have initiated a process of conflict resolution to foster peace and harmony among its members and leaders. The group cautioned against further division and called for responsible actions that uphold the values of Omoluabi (Yoruba cultural values) in the public sphere.
