Catholic Priest Abducted in Benue State Rescued by Security Operatives

The Catholic Priest of Otukpo Diocese, Rev. Fr. Anthony Adikwu, who was abducted by unknown gunmen last Thursday, has been successfully rescued. The incident took place in Ajegbe Awume, Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State. The priest was kidnapped from St. Margaret’s parish, and the news of his release came on Tuesday.

Operation Zenda’s Involvement

Following the kidnapping, the Operation Zenda unit was mobilized to track down the suspected abductors. The security operatives intensified efforts and conducted a meticulous operation to locate and rescue the Reverend Father. Their determined pursuit eventually led to the successful release of the priest.

Successful Pressure Tactics

The Benue State Police Command, upon receiving credible information on the kidnappers’ whereabouts, swiftly launched a strategic operation. The police deployed a dedicated team to the area, applying pressure on the abductors. This relentless pursuit and mounting pressure forced the kidnappers to release the priest and bring an end to his captivity
