Enugu State Governor Seeks Partnership with President Tinubu, Discusses Key Issues Including Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Governor’s Visit and Partnership: Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State visited President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja to discuss crucial matters concerning the state’s development and its people. Highlighting the importance of collaboration with the federal government, Governor Mbah emphasized the need for a strong partnership to achieve the administration’s agenda in areas such as the economy, infrastructure, security, and activation of dormant assets.

 

Transformation of Mineral Resources: Governor Mbah revealed that Enugu State possesses significant untapped mineral resources. During the meeting, he expressed the state’s aspiration to work closely with the federal government to transform these resources into productive assets. Recognizing the role of the private sector in driving economic growth, the governor stressed the importance of creating an enabling environment for businesses, including ensuring security and robust infrastructure.

 

Request for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release: The meeting also addressed the issue of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Governor Mbah highlighted that the demand for Kanu’s release is a collective request from the South East region, aligning with President Tinubu’s commitment to national healing and reconciliation. The governor urged the President to consider this request as a gesture of extending hands of fellowship to the Igbo people.
