Multiple Arrests Made for a Range of Criminal Offenses

The Enugu State Police Command has paraded 15 suspects who were arrested in different parts of the state between May and June 2023. These arrests were made in connection with various criminal offenses, including conspiracy, murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, unlawful possession of firearms, and fraud. The police have been actively cracking down on criminal elements, resulting in these notable apprehensions.

Successful Rescues of Kidnapping Victims

The diligent efforts of law enforcement and the support of vigilant citizens led to the rescue of seven kidnapped victims. Through coordinated operations carried out by police operatives with the assistance of other security forces and law-abiding residents, four kidnapped individuals were safely freed after an intense gunfight with the kidnappers in a forest at Aishi-Ette community. Additionally, a woman and her child, who were allegedly abducted along the Adani-Opanda Road, were successfully rescued.

Recovery of Firearms and Incriminating Exhibits

In the course of these operations, the police seized several important pieces of evidence. A total of seven firearms, two vehicles, one motorcycle, one dagger, and a sum of N701,000 in cash were recovered. These items play a crucial role in supporting ongoing investigations into the crimes committed by the arrested suspects. The Enugu State Police Command expressed gratitude to the law-abiding citizens who provided relevant information that contributed to these breakthroughs.
