Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Commendation: Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State expressed his appreciation and admiration for Aliko Dangote, the Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, during the ongoing commissioning of Dangote’s refinery in Nigeria. Sanwo-Olu commended Dangote for his vision and dedication to establishing the refinery, particularly in Lagos. He highlighted the remarkable journey of Dangote, who started with nothing but has now built an empire that makes Africa proud.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemical Project: The refinery, a subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited, was commissioned at the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. It is designed to process crude oil from Africa, Asia, and America, with a daily production capacity of close to 38 million litres of petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel for Nigeria.
Refining Capabilities and Products: With a capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, the Dangote refinery can transform crude oil into various petroleum products, including diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, and kerosene. It will produce high-quality Euro-V gasoline and diesel, as well as jet fuel and polypropylene. The facility is equipped to process a wide range of crude oil types, including African, Middle Eastern, and United States Light Tight Oil.
As the commissioning of the refinery takes place, the achievements of Aliko Dangote and the significant contributions of the Dangote Group to Nigeria’s industrial development are being recognized. The refinery’s capabilities and capacity hold great potential for Nigeria’s energy sector and the country’s overall economic growth.
