A man identified as Rafiu Akinwale, also known as ‘Slow’, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command over the death of Prince Adesoji Adesida. Adesida died after being allegedly pushed by Akinwale while trying to intervene in a fight between the suspect and his girlfriend at a funeral held at the International Cultural and Event Centre in Akure on Friday. According to reports, Adesida had attempted to stop Akinwale from beating up his girlfriend, who he accused of collecting a phone number from another man at the ceremony. Akinwale, who is a member of the Oodua Peoples Congress, has been taken into custody, and an investigation into the incident has been launched by the police.
