Olukayode Egbetokun has officially taken up the position of the 22nd Inspector-General of Police, succeeding Usman Ali Baba. Following his appointment by President Bola Tinubu, Egbetokun assumed leadership in a ceremony held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The new police chief pledged to address the issue of salary arrears owed to police constables, committing to settling the outstanding payments within one month. By addressing these welfare concerns, Egbetokun aims to boost the morale and well-being of police personnel, recognizing their critical role in maintaining law and order.
