NUT Criticizes JAMB
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has strongly criticized the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for its allegation that Mmesoma Ejikeme’s University and Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result is fake. The NUT National President, Mr. Titus Amba, expressed his disappointment in an interview, describing the situation as disgraceful and embarrassing.
Concerns about JAMB’s System Security
Amba pointed out that the accessibility to upgrade and present fake UTME results by Mmesoma and other candidates is a clear indication that JAMB has not fully secured its systems and the examination process. He raised concerns about the overall security of JAMB’s examination procedures and called for a thorough review to prevent such incidents in the future.
Government Funding and Accountability
The NUT president called on the government to provide adequate funding for examination bodies in the country to ensure their effective operation and prevent similar occurrences. Amba emphasized the importance of holding responsible those involved in fraudulent activities related to national exams like the UTME. He urged the government to reevaluate its approach and suggested that JAMB’s registrar take internal measures to address these issues effectively.
