Popular Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Oko, dies

Iyabo Oko, a seasoned Nollywood actress better known as Sidikat Odukanwi, has passed away.

The actress passed away on Wednesday night, her daughter Bisi Aisha confirmed today on Facebook.

The 61-year-old actress passed away Wednesday night after a battle with illness.
One of her daughters, Olamide, revealed last year that her mother had been diagnosed with an ischemic stroke about five years prior but had kept her health difficulties private.
Foluke Daramola, Iyabo Ojo, Bolaji Amusan, Mercy Aigbe, and Biodun Okeowo, among other Yoruba Nollywood celebrities, have previously provided financial support.

Odunkanwi began her acting career with Eda Onileola after being born on November 15, 1960, in the Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State.

She earned the nicknames “Iyabo Oko” and “Apoti Aje” throughout her acting career.
