Osun State Police Command Assures Media Houses and Residents of Adequate Security Against Potential Yoruba Nation Agitator Attacks

Following the recent attack on a media house in Ibadan by irate youths, the Osun State Police Command has pledged to provide sufficient security measures to protect media organizations and residents in the event of similar attacks by Yoruba Nation agitators.Assurances of Adequate Security: The Osun State Police Command, through its spokesperson, Commissioner of Police Patrick Kehinde Longe, has assured the public and media houses of comprehensive security measures. The command emphasized its readiness to handle any eventualities and prevent a recurrence of the recent attack in neighboring Oyo State.

 

Commitment to Upholding Democratic Process: The statement from the police command reiterated its commitment to upholding the democratic process in the state and Nigeria as a whole. Security agencies affirmed their determination to use all legal means to maintain law and order and protect the transition of power.

 

Arrest of Agitators: In the aftermath of the attack, four Yoruba Nation agitators, including a woman, have been arrested by the police with assistance from the Nigerian army. While some of the agitators managed to flee, one of the apprehended individuals sustained gunshot wounds and alerted others about the presence of security operatives within the radio station.As investigations continue, it has been revealed that the agitators held night duty staff and security guards hostage before taking control of the studio and announcing “Welcome to Yoruba Nation” live on the radio.
