Passenger train derails in southern Netherlands injuring over 30 people

A passenger train collided with construction equipment on the line near the village of Voorschoten in the southern Netherlands resulting in the derailment of the train.

The incident, which occurred around 3:30 am, injured at least 30 people. Emergency services responded promptly and are treating the injured on the spot while the most seriously injured are being taken to the hospital.

Reports suggest that around 60 people were on board the train at the time of the accident. The cause of the derailment is not yet known.
