Peter Obi Urges Economic Development and Youth Engagement as Key to Curtailing Ethnic and Religious Violence

Peter Obi’s Call for Addressing Incessant Killings: Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has emphasized the crucial role of building Nigeria’s economy and meaningfully engaging the country’s youth in curbing the recurring incidents of violence driven by ethnic and religious biases. His remarks come in response to alarming reports of violent and criminal activities that have deeply concerned Nigerians.

Concern over Violent Attacks in Plateau State: Obi expressed grave concern regarding the recent reports of violent attacks by gunmen in the Mangu council area of Plateau State, resulting in the loss of numerous lives, including women and children. He condemned these acts of killing, kidnapping, maiming, and terrorism, emphasizing the need for swift action by both the security agencies and the government to prevent the nation from descending into anarchy. Obi stressed the importance of treating human lives with the utmost sanctity and preventing senseless deaths.
