Privacy Policy
At Kayefi, privacy isn’t just a feature—it’s the foundation. We collect as little data as possible to function.
- Data We Do Not Collect
- Names & Emails: We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number.
- Accounts: There are no user accounts or passwords.
- GPS Data: We do not track your precise location.
- Data We Do Collect
- Content: The text of your confessions and comments.
- IP Hash: To prevent spam and enforce rate limits (e.g., preventing you from posting 50 times a minute), we take your IP address and turn it into a cryptographic Hash (a random string like a3f9…). We verify the hash, not your raw IP.
- Local Storage: We use your device’s browser storage to:
- Remember your Dark/Light mode preference.
- Track which posts you have reacted to (so you can’t vote infinitely).
- Track if you have installed the Lite App (PWA) to stop showing you the install prompt.
- Content Retention (72 Hours)
This is our core promise. Confessions and comments are retained for 72 hours (3 days). After this period, a scheduled system task permanently deletes the data from our database.
Note: While we delete data from our servers, we cannot control screenshots taken by other users.
- Cookies & Analytics
- Cookies: We use minimal technical cookies for security (nonces) and site functionality.
- Analytics: We may use privacy-friendly analytics to count visitors, but these do not track individual browsing history across the web.
- Third-Party Links
If a user posts a link (against our rules), clicking it may take you to a third-party site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.
- Contact
For privacy concerns, contact us. Note that we cannot remove content based on a “Right to be Forgotten” request for specific users, as we do not know which content belongs to whom. We can only remove content that violates our policies.
