Arrest of Suspect in Attack on Apostle Suleman’s Convoy
The Nigeria Police has paraded Yusuf Isah, a 32-year-old male suspect, in connection with the attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman, the Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide. Gunmen had targeted the cleric’s convoy along the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including three policemen. Isah was apprehended by the Intelligence Rapid Team following an intensive investigation.
Recovery of Firearms and Explosives
Police spokesperson CSP Muyiwa Adejobi disclosed that during the arrest, the operatives of the FIB-IRT discovered firearms and explosives in Isah’s possession. The recovered items included five AK47 rifles, two K2 assault rifles, 180 live ammunition, and four suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The recovery further implicated the suspect in the attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy.
Suspect’s Confession
Yusuf Isah, the accused suspect, confessed to being responsible for opening fire on Apostle Suleman’s convoy. In a statement to the media, he admitted his involvement in the attack, providing a crucial admission of guilt in the case.
