Meta’s WhatsApp has announced a new feature set to allow users to edit sent messages.

Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg disclosed this in a Facebook post on Monday.

In the post, Zuckerberg mentioned that users can now edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it.

If you wish to change a message, you can hold down on the message and tap the edit option.

The time stamp of the altered messages will be marked with the word “edited” to indicate the change.

For the moments when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp,” the Meta messaging app said.

The app won’t keep track of any rectification history, though.

The earlier iterations of altered messages won’t be visible to other users.
