White House invites Google, Microsoft CEOs to discuss AI

On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris and other senior administration officials will meet with the CEOs of Alphabet Inc.’s Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic to discuss important artificial intelligence (AI) challenges.

This development was contained in a statement from the White House.

According to a copy of the invitation, Vice President Kamala Harris and other US administration representatives will discuss measures to guarantee that customers benefit from AI while being protected from its drawbacks.

According to a White House official, the conference is intended to emphasise the duty of creating reliable AI that reduces possible dangers as part of a larger effort to interact with various companies regarding AI.

Last month, US regulators took a step towards developing AI regulations that may cause the White House to halt the development of novel technologies like ChatGPT.

The White House official who wished to remain unnamed stated that among others, Biden’s chief of staff Jeff Zients, deputy chief of staff Bruce Reed, national security adviser Jake Sullivan, director of the National Economic Council Lael Brainard, and secretary of commerce Gina Raimondo will be present at the meeting on Thursday.
