In an unprecedented move, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University in Lapai, Niger state, has taken decisive action against 23 students who have committed serious offenses, just days before the highly anticipated 4th combined Convocation of the University. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, addressed journalists in Minna yesterday to shed light on the circumstances leading to the expulsions and the upcoming graduation ceremony.
The disciplinary measures taken by the university are a clear indication of its commitment to maintaining its well-deserved reputation for excellence. Out of the 23 students expelled, 17 were advised to withdraw from the institution due to their persistently low academic performance, while the remaining seven were expelled for various misconducts that violated the university’s code of conduct.
