Adeleke Wins Supreme Court Battle: Bola Tinubu Congratulates and Urges Unity for Osun State

In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court has declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the authentic winner of the July 16, 2022 Osun Governorship Election. The court’s decision follows a long-drawn legal tussle with Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who had challenged Adeleke’s victory at the polls. However, while the Tribunal sacked Adeleke, the Appeal Court and now the Supreme Court have affirmed his mandate.

Reacting to the verdict, President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, congratulated Governor Adeleke and urged him to immediately settle down to work for the progress of the state. In a statement by his office, Tinubu praised Governor Oyetola for exercising his democratic rights and discharging his duties creditably while in office. He also urged all stakeholders to respect the court’s decision and work towards uniting the state.
